Shawn is looking for some companionship, via letters to help him pass the time in prison. Shawn has played baseball, has been a youth baseball coach. His first time as a little league coach, his team won 1st place. He worked really well with the young kids. Even the worst player improved with his guidance and patience.
Shawn then fell in with the wrong group of people and starting using drugs. He was caught with a guy he had just started hanging with...who robbed appliances from apartments. Shawn made the wrong decision to go along with him that day and they were caught. Shawn is hoping to start a new, better life when he gets out in 2007.
